I hope I don't sound too much like a shill here, but one notable exception I think you might find interesting is monero. Due to the relative lack of speculative frenzy (largely caused by delistings by exchanges not wanting to get in trouble with regulators) its certainly not very useful as a get rich quick tool, but compared to its peers it does hew much more closely to the origial ideological vision of bitcoin as digital money. It has much better privacy technology, can be mined on consumer grade CPUs instead of ASICs, scales better due to variable block size monetary policy, etc. As a result its much more prominent in criminal or illegal activities such as ransomware or etc.

While its usage is much more limited than most of its peers, what I find interesting about it is that its developed a sort of informal central bank institutuon based on developer consensus and user uptake rather than the miner juntas more commonly seen. As a result it hews much more loosely to the sort of deflationist orthodoxy dominant in the rest of the sphere. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on this in a future article if that would be possible.Rothnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6704573462403312459.post-74689183706057016532021-12-26T07:04:54.237-05:002021-12-26T07:04:54.237-05:00You have not provided any argument and instead sim...You have not provided any argument and instead simply stated an unsubstantiated view that Bitcoin is a game. Second, you're making the most basic of logical fallacies. You're attacking the person, not the argument.JP Koninghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02559687323828006535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6704573462403312459.post-29223883079383581112021-12-25T05:27:17.025-05:002021-12-25T05:27:17.025-05:00I think you have joined the legions who need to co...I think you have joined the legions who need to cope by coming up with reasons why they were justified in not taking up a position even though they knew about Bitcoin early.

If it gives you less regret by pretending it is a game rather than investment, keep repeating it everyday but that won't change the reality that you are wrong.
